Charles & Virginia deGravelles are most well known for their contributions toward the establishment of the Republican Party and laying the groundwork for its growth in the State of Louisiana. They were jointly honored in 1977 as founders of the Louisiana Republican Party and have received the Lifetime Service Award from the Republican Party of Louisiana.
