Col. Francis C. Grevemberg
Known as “Mr. Republican” in the 1950’s & 1960’s, Grevemberg served as head of the State Police under Governor Kennon and was instrumental in cleaning up the corruption and gambling of the era. He was a candidate for Governor in both 1956 and 1960. During his military career he was awarded the Soldiers Medal, the Legion of Merit, the French Croix and the Italian Military Valor Cross.
