Edward G. “Ned” Randolph, Jr.

Ned Randolph was elected mayor of Alexandria in 1986 and held that office for 20 years. During his tenure the Riverfront Center was opened, Union Tank Car came to Alexandria, & the Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center was opened. He also helped the city weather the closing of England Air Force Base & assisted in its evolution into an economic development authority cited as a model for reuse of a former military base. He was a La. State Rep. (1972-1976) and a La. State Senator(1976-1984).
