James “Jim” Brown

Mr. Brown was a major sports figure in the 1960’s. Before his retirement from public office he was one of the longest serving public officials in Louisiana’s history. He was first elected to public office in 1971 as one of Louisiana’s youngest state senators. In 1980, he was elected as Secretary of State and in 1991 he was Louisiana’s Commissioner of Insurance. Today, Jim hosts a syndicated regular radio show and writes a weekly column.
