Jesse H. Bankston
Jesse Bankston served as the Head of the Louisiana Democratic Party for over twenty years. He was elected to the La. Democratic State Central Committee in 1960. In 1968, he was elected to the State Board of Education and served on that board for over twenty-seven years. He also served as Director of the State Hospital Board and the Department of Hospitals for eight years during the tenure of Governor Earl Long.
