Jimmy Fitzmorris

One political writer summed up former Lieutenant Governor Fitzmorris as not “mean enough,” he didn’t go for the jugular like many other candidates. He was too much of a “nice guy.” James E. “Jimmy” Fitzmorris served with Governor Edwin Edwards from 1972- 1980. He reportedly has received the most awards of any political figure in Louisiana.
