John Fournet

In 1928 Mr. Fournet was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives and became Speaker of the House. He was elected Lt. Governor in 1932 and Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in 1935. He advanced to Chief Justice in 1949 until his retirement in 1970. Mr. Fournet is the only person in Louisiana to hold the highest positions in all three branches of government.
