Melvin L. “Kip” Holden
Kip Holden has been a Louisiana State Senator, a Louisiana State Representative, a Baton Rouge Metro Councilman, a Louisiana Department of Labor Clerk, and a Baton Rouge City Policeman. In November of 2004, he was elected as the first African-American Mayor-President of East Baton Rouge Parish. Mr. Holden is a Louisiana Adjunct Professor of Law at Southern University School of Law in Baton Rouge. Prior to his political career he was a journalist and an attorney.
