Russell Long

Russell, son of “The Kingfish,” Huey P. Long, served as United States Senator from 1948 through 1986. He served as Democratic whip from 1965-1969. He was considered by many as one of the most powerful senators ever to serve in Washington. Russell is considered the “father of the earned income tax credit.”
