William “Bill” Lynch

Bill Lynch was born in Pennsylvania and raised in New York City and Elizabeth, Louisiana. He graduated from LSU in 1951 with a degree in Journalism. He worked for the Shreveport Times, The New Orleans States-Item and the Times-Picayune. He spent most of his forty-year newspaper career as an investigative reporter. He was appointed the state’s first Inspector General by Governor Buddy Roemer in 1988 and continued in that capacity until his death in February of 2004.
